Sleek Geeks Science: Eureka Prize 2024

It’s time for students with a knack for communicating, and budding filmmakers with an interest in science, to pull out their cameras.

What:

The 2024 University of Sydney Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize will be awarded for a film that communicates a scientific concept in an accessible and engaging way.

How:

A short film (2mins) created and edited entirely by you that addresses the assessment criteria.

Why:

Communicating scientific ideas and discoveries to the world is a tricky task. Short films that are entertaining and accessible to the public are an easy way to communicate scientific knowledge. Dr Karl and Adam like to say, “Learning something without even noticing”.

The theme for 2024 is ‘Energy.’

I am interested, so what do I do now?

  • Read more information about the competition here.
  • Familiarise yourself with the entry requirements and deadlines.
  • Reach out to your support network (school, parents/guardians, local Tech School) for some help.
  • Start researching some ideas!

The Geelong Tech School would be delighted to help our students who are keen to enter. Please reach out to us and we will work with you on how we can help.
