Visit from the STEM Ambassador

We were very pleased to welcome in Dr Tien Kieu MP the Ambassador for STEM education to learn about Geelong Tech School programs available to local schools and view technologies being used in applied learning activities.

Dr Tien mixed with students from St Ignatius participating in ‘Tinker Time’ and ‘Real Life animated’, Baptist College students participating in ‘Code Breaker A’ and students from St Josephs flexible learning in ‘Battle Bot’.

Elly Broadbent showcased the ‘Urban Bee-ology’ program, Lachie Patrick showcased the ‘Design for Humanity’ and Ross George presented the ‘Future Bricks’  core programs

Joe Ormeno the CEO of The Gordon spoke of the terrific outcomes being achieved by the Tech School and invested support from The Gordon. Ross George the Geelong Tech School Committee Chair and Managing Director of Austeng talked about the valuable industry investment into programs and the possibility of expanding real-life industry experiences through the Tech School.
