Mask Design Challenge

Local partner school Oberon High took up the design challenge to create a Face Mask.

Lead by the creator of the challenge Seven Vinton; all Victorian Schools were invited to enter the competition.  The Geelong Tech School was excited to support the students offering expert advice and access to the Fab Lab where students could use the 3D printers and the Laser Cutter.

The competition finished on September the 18th and received support from Datta Vic, DET, and other agencies across Victoria.

Seven says he decided to run the Medical Face Mask Design Challenge to provide an opportunity for students to contribute to the world knowledge base working to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

‘This ability to adapt to new situations is a skill that we strive to build in our students, and a skill that is very much part of the 21st-century skill set,‘ he says.

Well done to all the students who participated in this amazing design challenge.
