Answering a call out for local solutions

While we are all practicing and developing ways to inhibit the spread of CoVID19 the Geelong Tech school is supporting the adaptation and prototyping of face shields and an intubation box for local medical use to keep our practitioners safe.
The box, adapted from models used on the front lines overseas, are for use during intubation. The final product has been reviewed and will soon be in production for St John of God hospital in Geelong. The intubation box is currently being offered to other hospitals.
The shields are being developed to prevent droplet transfer. They are designed for health professionals who cannot access medical masks and other community members who might need this level of protection.
