Girls in Physics Morning Tea inspires students to explore STEM pathways, careers and opportunities in physics.
Geelong Tech School was delighted to host the Girls in Physics Morning Tea this week, an inspiring event organised by VicPhysics that brought together 58 students from schools across the region.
Students heard from guest speaker Natalie Clements, Senior Medical Physicist at GenesisCare Victoria, who shared insights into the vital role physics plays in cancer treatment through radiology. The presentation offered a fascinating look at the real-world application of physics in healthcare while highlighting the diverse and rewarding career opportunities available within the profession.
The event also provided students with the opportunity to connect with women working across a range of physics-related fields. Through informal conversations and networking, attendees explored study pathways, career journeys and workplace experiences, gaining valuable insights into the many directions a career in STEM can take.
The enthusiasm and curiosity shown by the students sparked engaging discussions throughout the morning, reinforcing the importance of creating opportunities for young people to connect with industry role models and see themselves reflected in future careers.
Guests enjoyed a delicious morning tea provided by The Davidson, helping to foster a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere.
