Girls Leading Advanced Manufacturing (GLAM) is a hands-on immersion program crafted specifically for Year 9, 10 & 11 girls, designed to spark interest in the exciting field of advanced manufacturing.

GLAM promotes female participation in technology, engineering, design, and innovative manufacturing, while highlighting the importance of these careers in the Geelong region.

Delivered in partnership with the Geelong Manufacturing Council, GLAM provides:

  • Behind-the-scenes access to leading manufacturing facilities through industry tours and expert presentations.
  • Development of essential job readiness and leadership skills tailored to empower young women.
  • Opportunities to meet and learn from female role models, including engineers, scientists, and senior professionals working in advanced manufacturing.

GLAM is about inspiring girls to lead in advanced manufacturing by showing them the possibilities, breaking down barriers, and building confidence in their future potential.

 

Launch: Thursday 21st May
Day 1: Thursday 25th June
Day 2: Thursday 23rd July
Day 3: Tuesday 28th July
Day 4: Thursday 13th August
Day 5: Tuesday 1st September
Reflection Day: Thursday 15th October
Graduation: Thursday 12th November

  • Students must be in years 9, 10, or 11 to apply.
  • Students must first get permission from both their Parent/Guardian and their school Careers Teacher before applying.
  • Students must commit to attending all days of the program.

  • There is a limited number of places available, and early registrations will take priority.
  • Students will need to make their own transport arrangements to and from The Gordon each day. We will organise transportation to and from the industry visits.
  • Each day will start at 9am and finish at 3pm.
  • The Geelong Manufacturing Council will take on the duty-of-care of all participants during the program.
