What is happening in the workshop?
Designing Solar Ovens
In this unit, participants work towards the challenge of engineering their own sustainable solar oven. They will explore environmental engineering and sustainability though considering the products they use and decisions they make. Through hands-on activities they will explore how light moves and impacts objects, how heat can be conducted by objects and how insulator can slow this, and how to make a life cycle analysis of a product. Using the Engineering Design Process, participants will apply all the knowledge and skills they have gained to create their sustainable solar oven.
