Esports Planning Committee

We’re looking for students interested in organising an inter‑school Esports competition for the Geelong region.

The initial concept for this event has been developed by Xavier, a student from Kardinia International College, who will take a leading role in shaping the competition.

The proposed competition will be hosted at Geelong Tech School during Term 3. It is designed to provide an inclusive and engaging opportunity for students to collaborate, compete, and build connections with peers from other schools in a well‑supported environment.

At this stage, we are seeking an indication of interest for:

• Students interested in joining the planning committee
• Schools interested in entering a team into the competition

This information will support the committee in planning the day’s structure and the logistics required to run the event successfully.

Proposed event overview

Game: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (or other games TBA)
Location: Geelong Tech School
Date: TBD – Mid‑Term 3, 9:30 am–2:30 pm
Participants: Secondary school students
Team Structure: Teams of 4–5 students
Focus: Collaboration, teamwork, and developing a deeper understanding of the Esports industry
Cost: Free for all students. Geelong Tech School will organise and cover the cost of all bus travel to and from participating schools.
