The event kicked off with an inspiring presentation by Diana Ormeno from Barwon Health, who shared insights into MND and the mobility and independence aids currently available to her clients.
Energized by her talk, the students worked in teams to empathize, ideate, and design original gadgets to improve the quality of life for those affected by the condition.
With just two days to tackle the challenge, the students delivered impressive results! From an electronic door handle assist to an automatic chip packet opener, their prototypes showcased teamwork, creative problem-solving, and rapid learning.
The final pitches were presented to Diana and the Tech School team, who were all thoroughly impressed by the ingenuity and dedication on display.
